Solarwinds products receive global recognition from the IT professional community

Solarwinds has had a great start to 2014. They have recently been awarded a strong list of “Best of’s” around their network management software.

Executive VP of Products and Markets, Suaad Sait states,”To have our products recognized by both industry experts and the IT community for excellence across networks, systems and application is continued reinforcement that working closely with and listening to our user-community thwack to design the products they want and need is the right approach.”

Among those honoring SolarWinds are Network Computing Magazine, SC Magazine, Virtualization Review, Windows Networking, Virtualization Admin, IT Europa and Ed Tech Digest.

Below is a list of accolades that were recently awarded to Solarwinds:

Network Management
Network Computing Magazine, a U.K. publication, named SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) “Software Product of the Year” and also recognized it as runner-up for “Network Management Product of the Year” in March.

Additionally in March, SolarWinds NPM won for Networking Solution in the EdTech Digest Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology.

In February, SolarWinds NPM was named first-runner up by the Windows Networking community in the Readers’ Choice Network Monitoring Award category.

Finally, SolarWinds NPM was named a finalist for Networking Solution of the Year in the IT Europa European IT & Software Excellence Awards, the only pan-European awards that recognize real-world solutions. The winners will be announced in late March.

Security Management
The 2014 SC Awards U.S., announced in February, included 650 nominations in 31 categories that focus on products and services affecting IT security. SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager was honored to win in the “Best Risk/Policy Management Solution” category for the second year in a row, and SolarWinds Log & Event Manager received a finalist distinction in the “Best Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Solution” category.

Virtualization Management
In January, SolarWinds Virtualization Manager was named Editor’s Choice for Virtualization Management and Optimization by Virtualization Review and voted second runner-up by Virtualization Admin’s community in the Readers’ Choice Awards for Monitoring, Management & Performance.

Remote IT and Help Desk Management
The Windows Networking community recently voted and named SolarWinds Web Help Desk the best Help Desk solution in December 2013 and SolarWinds DameWare Remote Support the first runner-up for Remote Control in January for their Readers’ Choice Award categories

SolarWinds survey finds 60% would obtain additional IT training

SolarWinds recently released findings from a survey conducted amongst 118 Australian IT professionals in a press release titled – Training Needed to Avoid Potential Skills Deficit. In the announcement, SolarWinds highlighted the following findings:

  • Only 11% of those surveyed agreed that that their higher education sufficiently prepared them for their current IT role.
  • More than 36% of Australians surveyed in SolarWinds’ global IT Pros Survey agreed that understanding broader business objectives and priorities is the single most important skillset required to tackle today’s challenges of network complexity.
  • More than 66% of Australian IT professionals also said companies needed to invest in staff training to prepare as networks grow more complex.

In order the bridge the skills gap, 60% of respondents said they would obtain additional IT training.

Loop1 Systems to create jobs in Cork, Ireland with Establishment of a Sales, Customer Support, and Technical Center

Cork, January 29th, 2013 – Loop1 Systems Inc., a company that specialises in training and professional services for SolarWinds customers across North America and the EMEA region is to establish an EMEA sales, customer support and technical centre in Cork with the creation of 17 new jobs. Loop1 chose Cork as the location for this operation due to its close relationship with SolarWinds, which has its EMEA headquarters in Cork. A large number of Loop1’s customers are multinational companies that have a need to service their computer networks.

Commenting on the announcement Don Kinnett, President of Loop1 said, ‘The replicating of our North American operations here in Cork will allow Loop1-EMEA to offer our suite of products and services to clients that are located in Europe and beyond. We regard the establishment of this operation as playing a vital role in creating global outreach to many of our Fortune 500 clients.’
