Job Summary 

Loop1 is on the lookout for a dynamic and dedicated Professional Services (PS) Engineer to join our Cirencester-based team. As a PS Engineer, you will be a key player in our engineering team, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering – EMEA. 

Your primary role will be to deliver first-class consultation, technical expertise, and support to our esteemed clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide customised solutions, with a focus on SolarWinds solutions. You will also lead roadmap discussions and follow them up with appropriate actions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Consultation and Training: Provide expert consultation and training to clients in line with our L1M3 Services framework. This includes sharing best practices based on L1M3 principles to help clients maximise their investment in Loop1’s products
  • Documentation: Create clear and comprehensive documentation as part of project service delivery, a crucial factor for success. 
  • Installation and Configuration: Carry out both customised and standard installation and configuration services within the L1M3 Service Delivery Model
  • Database Platforms: Support in configuring and maintaining database platforms, offering guidance in accordance with the L1M3 framework. Your role will involve ensuring the efficient, secure, and effective operation of database systems
  • Travel: Be prepared to travel as the role may require it. Travel could involve client visits, attending conferences, and collaborating with other Loop1 offices

Essential Requirements 

  • Expert SolarWinds Proficiency: Demonstrable skills in designing, implementing, and configuring SolarWinds Orion (NPM, SAM, NTA, NCM, DPA, etc.) within complex, distributed, and highly available environments
  • SolarWinds SCP Certifications: Possession of SolarWinds SCP Certifications or the ability to acquire them within a 6-month probationary period
  • Monitoring Technologies: At least 2 years’ experience in industry-standard monitoring technologies (SNMP, WMI, API, scripts, agent-based, remote polling), showcasing the ability to implement and support complex environments
  • Dashboard Creation: Minimum 2 years’ experience creating and supporting monitoring dashboards for diverse user levels, with proficiency in generating clear and actionable reporting and status updates
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of SNMP, SNMP traps, Syslog, Windows, Linux operating systems, server virtualisation technologies, and Cisco device configuration
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in providing technical training to application users
  • Administration Experience: At least 3 years’ hands-on server and network administration experience for medium to large businesses 
  • High Availability and Troubleshooting: Minimum 2 years’ experience in configuring high availability systems, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting 
  • Reliable Connectivity: A reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Relationship Building: The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Certifications: SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certifications, MCSA, CCNA
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL administration and SQL query language, understanding of SWQL and SolarWinds API, strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, POSTMAN, familiarity with Cisco IOS
  • Ecosystem Familiarity: Knowledge of complementary platforms such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Clarity, Jenkins, GitHub, and other DevOps Tools 
  • Experience: Familiarity with various APM and proprietary solutions like Appdynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, Elastic, Datadog, CAWily, BMCTruesight, Prometheus, Nagios, etc 
  • Flexibility: The ability to travel as required

Work Location: 

  • This position is primarily remote, with the option for on-site work
